Dolans Presents have announced that Limerick’s own Blindboy Boatclub has added a second Dolans Warehouse date for his phenomenally popular Blindboy Podcast Live event.
Tickets for Blindboy’s extra date at Dolans Warehouse on Thursday, May 9th are expected to be in high demand as the popular podcast series continues to gain a huge following.
Blindboy's increased notability away from his band Rubberbandits, has allowed for him to explore wider avenues and create perhaps outrageously mind-altering brainchildren which can only be described as courageous, yet bonkers.
The social commentator has developed an audience of over 1,000,000 people listening and a new show going live with the BBC early 2019.
With a number one selling book under his belt and a podcast that has reached interest not only in Ireland & the UK but internationally, the satirist could possibly single-handedly change people's mind set on mental health and the deafening stigma it surrounds.
The Podcast has received plaudits from around the globe with previous guests including the likes of economist David McWilliams, civil rights activist and former MP Bernadette Devlin McAliskey, and author Louise O'Neill.
Engaging, at times controversial, but always highly inspirational his subject choices have been eye-opening, informative and, at times, devastating. His style has been described by Hot Press as ‘genuinely ground-breaking in terms of long-form interviewing in Ireland’.
Blindboy has never been shy about putting his views on Irish society into the public domain, so it stands to reason that his podcast often delves into weighty topics - as well as revelling in the surreal, with short fiction pieces, comedy and interviews in the mix.
The Daily Edge have described his approach as having an ‘uncanny ability to articulate what nearly everyone is thinking is unparalleled and something that is sorely needed in Irish society’.
Outspoken, informed and empathetic, Blindboy engages his audience with an unusual touch of realism. There is a very authentic feeling of "freedom" he exhumes which allows his listeners and participants to openly speak their mind without judgement and no topic off limits - certainly an air of belonging encircling the space you find yourself in when listening or in company of Blindboy.
His latest innovative creation, The Blindboy podcast not only espouses mental health issues but reaches further into an eclectic spectrum of current topics from gun laws to feminism, racism or a bit of history. Blindboy has it covered.
