Dolans Presents have announced that UK five-piece indie band Blossoms will perform in Dolans Warehouse as part of their Irish tour. The band will play the Warehouse on March 1st.
The Blossoms tour comes as the band promotes their upcoming third album, Foolish Loving Spaces.
Blossoms this week revealed their new single If You Think This Is Real Life and its accompanying video. The video was directed by Michael Holyk, who has worked with the likes of Jake Bugg and Tom Walker previously.
The album follows 2018's top 5 album, Cool Like You and will feature their latest single, 'Your Girlfriend'.
Foolish Loving Spaces was produced by the band’s usual team of James Skelly and Rich Turvey at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. Described as a romantic page-turner, the album ranges from TV game show-theme synths to rolling keys from Myles Kellock, but retains the classic direct lyrical range from vocalist Tom Ogden.
The record’s multi-instrumental colour and widescreen sound is provided by pedal steel and lead guitarist Josh Dewhurst, while Joe Donovan on drums and Charlie Salt on bass bring danceable grooves throughout, complemented on occasion by a wall of gospel harmony.
"The album is a pure celebration of love in all of its splendid and baffling guises, toying with the so-called sins of lust and forbidden infatuation," explains the band. "It’s inspired by a summer spent listening to Stop Making Sense, The Joshua Tree, and Screamadelica."
Blossoms are an English indie pop band from Stockport, Greater Manchester. Formed in 2013, the band consists of Tom Ogden (lead vocals, guitars), Charlie Salt (bass, backing vocals), Josh Dewhurst (lead guitars, percussion), Joe Donovan (drums) and Myles Kellock (keyboards, synthesizer, backing vocals).
Since forming in 2013, Blossoms have enjoyed widespread success and acclaim. Their 2016 debut full length topped the album charts for two consecutive weeks and went on to earn the band BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominations.
2018’s Cool Like You spawned the anthemic singles 'I Can’t Stand It', 'There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)' and 'How Long Will This Last?' The band also launched their ‘Blossoms Pubcast’ in March, which has topped the iTunes podcast charts.
Last summer saw Blossoms play their biggest gig to date - a triumphant, hometown show at Stockport County’s 20,000 capacity Edgeley Park, which sold out in minutes and was described as a ‘slam-dunk’ by NME. They launched their ‘Blossoms Pubcast’ in March, which has topped the iTunes podcast charts.
