Mick Flannery to launch new album with live broadcast from Dolans Warehouse

On Saturday July 25th, 10 Irish music venues will be all participating in a live streamed show coming from Dolans Warehouse in Limerick.

Mick Flannery and his full band will be launching their Live album, which is a profit share between all band and crew that have lost all of their work due to the COVID 19 Pandemic.

All venues participating will be receiving 50% of ticket sales from this show via their own ticket link.  This is a small gesture of solidarity to these independent music venues which make up an integral part of the tapestry of the Irish music industry.  We need to support them now, and even more so when they are allowed to re-open.

To celebrate the release of 'Alive', Mick and his full band will stream from Dolans (All social distancing measures in place).

‘Alive’ is Mick Flannery’s seventh studio album. It was recorded in front of a live studio audience at Cork Opera House in 2019.

All proceeds from the album are to be shared among the band and crew who, live all in the creative industry, were significantly affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Flannery has been influenced by the likes of Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Tom Waits and Joni Mitchell, who inspired Flannery to master his storytelling, musical craft.

This latest album release features songs such as 'Wasteland,' 'Boston','Red to Blue', 'I Own You...', as well as playful interludes 'Brad Pitt from the Neck Down' and 'Dead Thing Missing'.

Speaking recently, Flannery said: “I’m very glad this album is coming out, I think it showcases the talents of the people I’m lucky to share stages with," Mick said.

"I’ve been playing music with this band for quite a while now and this was a particularly nice night to capture on a recording. We had done a tour of promoting a new album and we were familiar with the whole set, new and old.

"Things happen in live gigs that don’t happen so easily in studio settings, the atmosphere of the room and the audience plays in, perhaps a home-crowd helped also. I think this album captures the in-the-moment spontaneity of the musicians, and that’s great to hear," he added.

A portion of profits from all sales from Mick Flannery’s Bandcamp store will be going to the Movement of Asylum Seekers in Ireland today.

“MASI fight for the dignity of people in, what I see as a very ugly system, direct provision,” Mick said, commenting on the controversial plight of asylum seekers in Ireland.

Since the release of his last record in July 2019, Mick has performed nearly 100 shows between Ireland, the UK, USA, and Canada and has shown no signs of slowing down.

The 17-track album is available now to pre-order. Fans can find out the details at mickflannery.com.
