This Wednesday sees the final night, before a summer recess, of the Limerick’s Karlnival Comedy Club which has been in residence at the Kasbah in Dolans since October 2018.
The comedy club has taken place weekly featuring Limerick’s Karl Spain and a host of award-winning comedians taking to the Kasbah stage every Wednesday night.
Recognised for years as a venue that hosts quality comedy acts, Dolans has played host to comedians such as Tommy Tiernan, John Bishop, Dara O’Briain, Ed Byrne, Reginald D Hunter and Phil Jupitus.
The new ‘Karnival Comedy Club’ venture is seen by the Dolans team as an opportunity to offer the growing Limerick comedy audiences a regular mid-week club. Since opening, Karlnival Comedy Club has attracted the very best names on the comedy circuit to Limerick on a weekly basis.
The final night’s line-up features Tanyalee Davis, a standup comedian who inspires, enlightens and entertains her audiences with her own unique perspective and somewhat racy brand of comedy.
In 2007 Tanyalee premiered her first one-woman show called “Little Do They Know” at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival where she received 4 star reviews. From January to June 2011, Tanyalee performed her very successful six-month one-woman show called “Little Comedian, BIG Laughs”, just off the Las Vegas strip, four nights a week for six months. In July 2011, the pilot episode of “Adam Hills: Comically Challenged” aired on BBC Northern Ireland where Tanyalee was featured.
Tanyalee starred in the premiere episode of “Last Comic Standing 2”, “Little People, Big World” as well as featuring on “World’s Smallest People” on ITV (UK) and TLC -The Learning Channel.
2015 saw her UK Television prime-time debut when she appeared on BBC1’s The John Bishop Show, a dazzling performance that saw her stock as a headline comic rise to even greater heights!
Tanyalee continues to make a significant dent in the worldwide comedy circuit, headlining throughout the US, Canada and the UK. What she lacks in height she makes up in tenacity. She is often referred to as “The Little Lady With A Lot Of BIG Laughs.”
Tanyalee will be supported by Robbie Bonham, a 15 year veteran of the Irish comedy scene.
Though strictly a club comic, he has taken his act around the UK and parts of Europe, where he tackles the universal topics of relationships, addiction, and just the baffling dilemmas of trying to deal with reality, when reality isn’t all that clear to him.
In 2016 he was one of the subjects of TV3’s documentary, ‘The Stand Ups’. He is also a published writer, illustrator and cartoonist.
